'We had a brilliant Christmas – the kitchen took a while to get used to as mine is gas but Christmas dinner was a great success. We had to have the flre lit in the dining room (for the effect) even though it wasn’t cold. The people we met were all really friendly and we couldn’t fault the Valiant Soldier – food and drink excellent.'
